How do I install runXT?
Currently there is no installation needed, just put the contents of the zip file somewhere on your computer and start runXT.exe.

How do I add Commands?
There are serveral ways to do this. One is to type #create and hit enter but you can also just type the name of the application you want to run, hit enter and click yes in the dialog that opens. Or if you are the mouse guy, rightclick the tray icon and choose "Create Command".

How do I edit my Commands?
Type #edit and hit enter. This will bring up notepad with the command.xml file. I will introduce an Command Editor in one of the upcoming versions.

Is there a HotKey (Shortcut) to bring runXT to the front?
Yes, try Shift + Strg + Alt + X! You can also change it in the Settings Dialog!

How do i configure runXT?
Either type #settings or rightclick the tray icon and select Settings. The Dialog should be pretty self-explaining.

I heard that there is an built in calculator, is that true?
Yes! To invoke the calculator type #calc and the calculation you want to do. You could type "#calc 6*8" for example (without the quotes).

Sure!

#new creates a new command
#create same as #new
#edit edit your commands
#clock shows the clock
#help nothing yet
#calc start the calculator (e.g.: #calc 6*8)
#countdown read more in the Change Log
#refresh refreshes the command list
#reload same as #refresh
#version displays the version of runXT you are running
#settings brings up the settings/options dialog
#exit close runXT
#quit same as #exit

Yes, but only if the window has focus - Escape (ESC).

Not yet - but I will in the future. Just let me pass some versions and clean up my code and you're good to go.

Well, a big villa on the seaside, one (or two) good looking girls and a lot of money of course!! =)

Ok, serious now. I plan a lot of neat features for runXT!

  • Media Player controling (Winamp, Windows Media Player, ...)
  • Speech Recognition
  • Recognition of installed Apps to automatically add Commands for them
  • DONE: Batch Commands (starting multiple apps with one command)
